Recipients
Government Employees:
Donna Goldstein
Donna works for School District and is attending FAU as a
Ph.D. candidate in Educational Leadership Adult and
Community Education. She chose Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) as her area of expertise and is Geographic
Information Systems Professional certified. Her goal is
to implement GIS educational programs to raise student
skill levels in the global society, and to give them a
greater understanding of the importance of planning and
the effects on the community.
William Dudak
Mr. Dudak has worked for Town of Jupiter for over 22
years in the water/utilities dept. He has Class ‘A’
Operator Certification and an SEDA Reverse Osmosis
Specialist license. He is enrolled in Palm Beach Atlantic
University’s MBA program. He would like to move into
management.
Students:
Andrew Capranos
At Jupiter High School, Andrew is Student Body President,
a straight ‘A’ honor roll student, a member of
the Student Government Association, and a Florida
American Legion Boys State Delegate. He plans to attend
UCF and major in Pre-Law and Political Science, and
become active in the UCF Student Government Association.
His goal is to participate in Palm Beach County municipal
government.
Brianna Frank
At Boynton Beach Community High School, Brianna is
Student Council President; National Honor Society
Communications Representative; National Thespian Society
President; and a member of Future Business Leaders of
America and Future Florida Educators of America. She
plans to attend FSU and study law or musical theater
education.
Silvia Ibrahim
Silvia is valedictorian t Dreyfoos School of the Arts, as
well as a recipient of the National Forensic League
Degree of Merit; a member of the National Honor Society;
and a Pathfinder nominee. She plans to study political
science and law, and her goal is to become a civil rights
attorney.
Marsha Joseph
Marsha attends Boynton Beach Community High School, where
she is in the National Honor Society; Vice President of
the Christian Club; and a member of the Tennis team. She
plans to major in psychology and her goal is to become an
Early Childhood Specialist.
Brianna Lauer
Brianna attends Seminole Ridge High School where she has
been Class President for 11th & 12th grades; a member
of the National Honor Society; and a Pathfinder nominee.
She is also on the Varsity Flag Football team and was
voted Homecoming Queen. She will attend Florida Gulf
Coast University and major in Forensic Science. Her goal
is to be a Crime Scene Investigator.
Alonzo Vereen
Alonzo attends Glades Central Community High School. He
is President of the Glades Area Youth Council and
Political Action Chair of the Florida’s Youth and
College Division of the NAACP. He plans to attend
Morehouse College to major in Political Science, with a
minor in either Public Administration or African-American
Studies. His goal is to become Mayor of Belle Glade.

Information
Scholarship Awards: The League’s Scholarship Committee reviews all submitted (complete) applications and selects a list of finalists for direct interviews. Upon completion of the interviews, the committee makes the final selection of one or more candidates to be awarded scholarships. The selection and awarding, or not, of scholarships is entirely at the discretion of the committee and their decision is final. The Scholarship Committee has the latitude to adjust the amount and number of our annual scholarship awards. The committee takes both need and merit into consideration.
(*The number of Cruickshank Scholarship awards and amounts of each are determined each year by the Scholarship Committee under the policies of the League of Cities.)

Requirements
for High School
Seniors:
2. Grade transcript must be submitted with application or prior to application deadline.
3. Applicant must provide two (2) letters of recommendation: one from the student’s guidance counselor and one from a member of the community who is familiar with the applicant’s character.
4. Applicant must write a one-page essay explaining why he/she is deserving of the scholarship.
5. Applicant must be available on the date of the interview to be considered for the scholarship.
6. Incomplete applications will not be forwarded for consideration.
Eligibility Requirements for Municipal Employees
or
*Persons studying or professional training or
certification for public service positions:
2. Applicant must have received an excellent performance rating in a governmental work environment, demonstrate excellent communication skills, show maturity in judgment and purpose and have a career objective of management or service in the public service field.
3. A current performance evaluation must be submitted with the application.
4. Applicant must provide two (2) letters of recommendation: one from the applicant’s work supervisor and one from a member of the community who is familiar with the applicant’s character.
5. Applicant must provide a copy of the municipality’s tuition reimbursement policy (if any).
6. Applicant must be available on the date of the interview to be considered for the scholarship.
7. Incomplete applications will not be forwarded for consideration.
8. *Applicants enrolled in Community College, University, Police Academy or other recognized program alternatives for the purpose of gaining certification and or meeting entry or testing requirement may apply as well.
